There are times in everyone’s life that support by prayer is welcome. It may be the result of a life-threatening event, or perhaps to ask for guidance through a particular situation, or to ask forgiveness in our life for things that we are not proud of having done. There are other times when prayer for a particularly ‘praise’ might be wanted such as when a medical treatment was successful, a cancer actually disappeared after prayers, a job was gotten by someone who had been out of work, someone’s son/daughter was married, etc. No matter the reason, if we are willing to ask God. He is willing to bless our success, forgive our transgressions, and guide us along the road of life.

Time for prayer can be obvious – when we are in the middle of a situation. But the prayer support we desire may not be immediately available. NEPC makes prayer with, and for you available in several ways.

  • During church services prayer is offered to those requesting it by filling out a ‘praise and concern’ card. Those cards are read during the service and prayers offered. The cards are also put onto the e-mail prayer chain after the service so those not at the service may offer their prayer as well.
  • At the conclusion of the service those desiring additional time with an Elder or other congregational member can go to the alter rail for reflection and prayer.
  • The NEPC ‘prayer chair’ is available daily for those desiring prayer. A separate e-mail site is used to send those requests. The address is This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . To get your request on the e-mail chain send the message to the e-mail address and it will be put on. Prayer requests from the previous 2 weeks can be viewed by selecting the button at top.
  • The email prayer chain only requires you to give your email address to the church, preferably through your email to the church’s address, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Once you have done that and requested to be put on the prayer chain, you will receive prayer requests as soon as the church receives them. When you have time you can read your email prayer chain request and pray. If you need prayer for yourself or another and cannot remember the e-mail address simply call the church office at 727-526-6083 and ask that the your prayer request be put onto the prayer chain

lords_prayerThe Lord's Prayer is the model of prayer that Jesus taught us, as recorded in the gospels of Matthew and Luke.

It is presented here in traditional and modern language - Matthew 6:9-13

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy Kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever.
Amen

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your Kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins,
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours.
Now and for ever.
Amen
