Welcome! Our goal is to help our children become true disciples of Jesus Christ by building relationships with them, being examples for them, and teaching them God’s Word.
Welcome to Discovery Kidz,
where our kids learn that God loves them, God made them, and that Jesus wants to be their friend forever!
Every Sunday morning our main program kicks off in the Faith Building at 10:30AM where we use a combination of crafts, activities, video lessons, small group time, monthly memory verses and playground time to communicate our daily and monthly messages. We’ve been blessed with amazing long-time staff and volunteers who help us run this program, including sweet grandmas who love to rock, sing to, and play with the babies. Babies are always cared for separately, and the small group activities for our 1-2s and the 3-5’s are in separate rooms.
Overall as a church our Christian Nurture team’s mission is to provide safe and loving environments where our kids can learn about and experience the love of God through Jesus Christ our savior. We also feel that when we can partner with parents to communicate these messages to the kids, then our combined impact can be much more effective; which is why every week you’ll get handouts detailing our lesson for the week and month, as well as activities you can do at home to reinforce. The curriculum we use has a great app called “Parent Cue” where you can find these types of resources and more to help with the reinforcement at home.
we believe the Bible should never be boring, worship can be really loud, and good leaders always care. Before kids head off to middle school, we want to make sure these three things stick:
I need to make the wise choice.
I can trust God no matter what.
I should treat others the way I want to be treated.
The focus in UpTown is our small group environment. We want kids to see how God’s Word fits into their lives, to learn how to talk to him, and to build friendships that will last. That’s why it’s important to make sure your child connects with the same friends and same leader at the same hour—EVERY SUNDAY! UpTown meets at 10:30 a.m. in the Refuge.
All teachers are required to submit to a thorough background check. In addition all teacher helpers must attend training.
